UGOLINO AND HIS SONS
I HAVE BEEN DRAWING THIS STATUE SINCE I WAS A KID IT ALWAYS HAD GREAT MEANING TO ME, ITS FROM DANTES INFERNO ITS ABOUT A DUKE THAT WAS THROWN IN PRISON WITH HIS 4 SONS AND SENTANCE TO STARVE TO DEATH, AND THIS STATUE DEPICTS THE MOMENT HIS SONS BEG HIM TO EAT THEM SO HE CAN LIVE ON TO FIGHT AND HE CAN END THERE SUFFERING, I ALWAYS SAW IT AS MY 2 BROTHERS AND I SEEKING APPROVAL FROM OUR DAD AS HE SEEMS TO IGNORE US.
BUT WHEN EVER I CAN I TRY TO DRAW THIS STATUE EVEN IF ITS A QUICK 10 MIN SKETCH. NOTE TO SELF, I HAVE TO FIND THOSE OTHER DRAWINGS AND POST THEM

I like the work. It captures your view and insight of what it means to you
The Met is one of my favorite places to find inspiration... I dig your sketches. Hope to see you post more.
